Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 20 June 2026

1. Who we are

Southend Cleaners is an online marketplace operating in Southend-on-Sea and Essex (SS0–SS9 and surrounding postcodes), connecting independent cleaning professionals with customers. By using the site you agree to these terms.

2. The service

We provide a directory and lead-routing platform. Cleaning services are performed by independent cleaners — we are not party to the contract between cleaner and customer.

3. Cleaner obligations

  • Provide accurate business details, services and pricing.
  • Hold valid public liability insurance and any DBS check you claim.
  • Respond to leads in a reasonable time and behave professionally.
  • Comply with all applicable UK laws (tax, employment, health & safety).
  • Documents you upload may be reviewed by our verification team.

4. Customer obligations

  • Provide accurate contact details and job requirements.
  • Treat cleaners respectfully and pay agreed fees on time.

5. Listings & badges

Free listings show one postcode and limited info. Paid, Featured and Verified tiers unlock additional postcodes, contact details and badges. Verification covers documents supplied to us at the time of review; ongoing compliance is the cleaner's responsibility.

6. Acceptable use

No fake reviews, scraping, spam, harassment, or unlawful content. We may suspend or remove any account that breaks these rules.

7. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Southend Cleaners is not liable for the quality of work, loss, damage or disputes arising from services arranged through the site. Nothing limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.

8. Fees & refunds

Paid listing fees are billed in advance and non-refundable except where required by consumer law.

9. Termination

You can close your account at any time by emailing hello@southendcleaners.co.uk. We may suspend accounts that breach these terms.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified by email or on-site notice.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England & Wales.
